Even the most jaded of food nerds, restaurant enthusiasts, and chef groupies among us are looking forward to this weekend. That’s because Taste of the Nation L.A. is on Sunday, June 12 from 1 to 4:00 p.m., which is one of the better charity foodfests of the year. I’ve never heard complaints about tough parking, long lines, not enough food, snooty attendees, and a dull vibe. That’s because none of those bummer things apply to TOTNLA at Media Park in Culver City. It’s simply a great event to benefit a terrific cause.
All proceeds from ticket and auction sales are donated to Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign to combat childhood hunger in Los Angeles via the Los Angeles Coalition to End Hunger and Homelessness, the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank, California Association of Food Banks, California Food Policy Advocates, Center for Community & Family Services, and St. Joseph Center. This is obviously such a viscerally important issue to us parents. But it’s also something that people who don’t have kids, or frankly, don’t even like them very much, all seem to care about.
The chance to buy tickets in advance is quickly fading, and take note that Taste of the Nation has sold out in the past. More details and the full list of food and beverage participants — included newly expanded exciting booze offerings! — are below.
Tickets cost $25 for children 12-18 years (it’s actually a perfectly pleasant setting for children who want to go and can behave themselves), $100 for adults or $125 at the door if still available, and $150 for VIP admission/$200 at the door, which includes access to VIP Tent and valet parking.
